Department of Space, AIM, and Niti Aayog jointly organize workshop on empowering startups<\/a><\/p>\n

Bengaluru: The department of space (DoS), AIM, and Niti Aayog<\/a> have jointly organized a workshop on Thursday on empowering startups and MSMEs. <\/p>\n

Secretary, DoS, explained various opportunities and provisions being created within Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO<\/a>) to encourage the startups including the buy-back arrangements.\n<\/p>\n

He also announced the startup programme under ISRO called Space Entrepreneurship & Enterprise Development or SEED.\n<\/p>\n

The workshop is aimed to bring more synergy for the programme to address the real-time issues for MSMEs and startups in the space sector.\n<\/p>\n

The government on Wednesday launched three challenges in the space domain as a part of Atal New India Challenges [ANIC] \u2013 ARISE programme, under Niti Aayog.\n<\/p>\n

The challenge include a) Propulsion \u2013 Green propellants, Electric propulsion, advanced air-breathing, b) Geospatial information \u2013 Geospatial information using machine learning<\/a>, artificial intelligence<\/a> useful in crop monitoring, weather forecasting and program evaluations and c) Robotics, augmented reality<\/a> virtual reality \u2013 application of robotics, augmented reality, virtual reality technologies supporting space exploration.
\n<\/p>\n

On Thursday, sessions on conducted on topics such as building an Atmanirbhar Bharat by forging partnerships with global technology giants for startups;role of VCs, angel investors incubators, accelerators; overview of proposed ISRO Start-up Support programme; opportunities in Earth Observation and space applications.<\/p>\n

Eminent speakers form Industries such as GE, Cisco, SAP, Curefit, T-Hub and NumaAccelerators shared their experiences with new startups.\n<\/p>\n

ISRO officials presented the focus areas and opportunities in the space domain.
