{"id":2676,"date":"2020-09-10T18:31:55","date_gmt":"2020-09-10T18:31:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/techclot.com\/index.php\/2020\/09\/10\/ars-electronica-festival-features-virtual-taipei-show\/"},"modified":"2020-09-10T18:31:55","modified_gmt":"2020-09-10T18:31:55","slug":"ars-electronica-festival-features-virtual-taipei-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/techclot.com\/index.php\/2020\/09\/10\/ars-electronica-festival-features-virtual-taipei-show\/","title":{"rendered":"Ars Electronica Festival features virtual Taipei show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?rct=j&#038;sa=t&#038;url=https:\/\/www.taipeitimes.com\/News\/taiwan\/archives\/2020\/09\/11\/2003743214&#038;ct=ga&#038;cd=CAIyHGQzYWQwNmI0YTFiYjA3MmU6Y28udWs6ZW46R0I&#038;usg=AFQjCNHveMBoBLfudD4J8JTL-SZIWnbKPw\">Ars Electronica Festival features virtual Taipei show<\/a><\/p>\n<div readability=\"65\">\n<ul class=\"as boxTitle boxText\" data-desc=\"\u5206\u4eab\u5217\" readability=\"23\">\n<li readability=\"-1\">\n<p>By Sherry Hsiao  \/  Staff reporter<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Twelve virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) works by Taiwanese artists are represented online in this year\u2019s Ars Electronica Festival, which opened on Wednesday, festival organizers said yesterday.\n<\/p>\n<p>One of the world\u2019s leading media arts festivals, Ars Electronica is holding its 2020 edition, themed \u201cIn Kepler\u2019s Gardens: A global journey mapping the \u2018new\u2019 world,\u201d both online and as a physical event.\n<\/p>\n<p>The festival is taking place \u201cnot in spite of Corona [COVID-19], but because of it,\u201d the organizers said on the festival\u2019s Web site.\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"imgboxa\">\n<div data-fancybox href=\"https:\/\/techclot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/0NG3Ba.jpg\">\n                        <img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/techclot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/0NG3Ba.jpg?w=640&#038;ssl=1\"  src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\">\n                    <\/div>\n<p>Photo: CNA<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The annual event, dubbed a \u201cfestival for art, technology and society,\u201d is taking place in Linz, Austria, as well as in 120 other locations worldwide, through Sunday.\n<\/p>\n<p>The Taipei-based part of the festival, titled Garden Taipei, was curated by artist Huang Hsin-chien (\u9ec3\u5fc3\u5065) and presented by the Virtual and Physical Media Integration Association of Taiwan, in partnership with several groups including the Taiwan Creative Content Agency and National Taiwan Normal University.\n<\/p>\n<p>        <!-- \/21202031\/TT-mobile-sub-P-IR1 --><\/p>\n<p>Huang, a professor at the university\u2019s department of design, was a winner of the Best VR Experience Award at the 74th Venice Film Festival in 2017.\n<\/p>\n<p>The 12 works featured in the Taipei portion include <i>Bodyless<\/i> (\u5931\u8eab\u8a18) by Huang; <i>Barkley<\/i> (\u5c0f\u8c93\u5df4\u514b\u91cc) by Chiu Li-wei (\u90b1\u7acb\u5049); <i>Into the Woods<\/i> (\u767e\u5e74\u8703\u6a13\u5c0b\u5996\u8a18) by Wang Shih-wei (\u738b\u4e16\u5049); <i>Upload Not Complete<\/i> by Hu Chin-hsiang (\u80e1\u7e09\u7965), Tsai Bing-hua (\u8521\u79c9\u6a3a) and Chang Zhao-qing (\u5f35\u5146\u6176); and <i>Kuo Hsueh-Hu: Three States of Home Gazing<\/i> (\u90ed\u96ea\u6e56: \u671b\u9109\u4e09\u614b) by Huang and Chang Wen-chieh (\u5f35\u6587\u6770).\n<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <i>Through the Body<\/i> (\u7a7f\u8d8a\u8eab\u9ad4), a new work by Huang, is on display at the Ars Electronica Center in Linz as part of the Deep Space 8K program in the physical portion of the festival, organizers said.\n<\/p>\n<p>An exhibition featuring the participating Taiwanese works is expected to be held later at the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, organizers said.\n<\/p>\n<p>More information about the festival can be found at: ars.electronica.art\/keplersgardens.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\n                Comments will be moderated.
