Samsung may have just unveiled its Galaxy Note 20 series, but now that flagship is out of the way, the attention is going to move on to the next flagship smartphone from the company, which is expected to be called the Galaxy S21.
As per the latest report by The Elec, Samsung has decided to ditch a 3D Time of Flight (ToF) for the next-generation Galaxy S-series, just as it did for the Galaxy Note 20 series. As per the report, the ToF sensor was expected to help in viewing the Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) content with support from 5G.
The report suggests that keeping up with the competition from Apple and Huawei, Samsung decided to incorporate the ToF sensor on its handsets, however now even after one year, there is not enough \u201cToF content,\u201d which is why the company has taken this decision.
Another rumour about the Galaxy S21 that has come to light is that Samsung may be planning to bring back the headphone jack. As unlikely as that may sound, tipster Mauri QHD has said that Samsung is considering \u201cbringing back the headphone jack as a risky experiment to see what happens.\u201d
A previous report by Sammobile has also suggested that Samsung is planning to skip the ToF sensor for the Galaxy S21. The same report also suggested that the Galaxy S21 smartphone may offer a 150-megapixel main sensor with a 64-megapixel telephoto, 16-megapixel wide-angle and a 12-megapixel macro sensor.
This report suggested that Samsung is testing two different camera setups, one with Optical Image Stabilization on the main and telephoto sensors along with the selfie camera and the second one which has Optical Image Stabilization for the main, telephoto and wide-angle cameras. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
