NEW DELHI- The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is going to conduct the NIFT 2021 exam today in two shifts. The first session of NIFT 2021 exam will be held from 10:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m while the second slot will be from 2:30 p.m to 4:30 p.m. Candidates are expected to arrive at the NIFT exam centre at least two hours before the commencement of the exam. Also outside the NIFT 2021 exam centres, notices are placed about the guidelines which the candidates are required to follow before and during the entrance test. All the candidates who are appearing for the NIFT 2021 exam, must ensure that they are wearing the masks to the test centre and maintaining social distancing. The NIFT exam is conducted for admission to more than 2300 seats for the design programmes that are offered at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. All the candidates who qualify the NIFT exam, they will be offered admission to the 16 campuses of NIFT across India.

NIFT 2021 – Know the tricks to answer GAT questions

Studying is essential to ace the NIFT entrance exam, however, knowing the tricks to answer the question helps to tackle the test easily. Time management is the common challenge faced by the candidates during the NIFT entrance exam as there is a set time limit to complete the paper. The tricks to answer GAT questions are given below.

NIFT 2021 General Ability Test (GAT)

The second part of the NIFT written test which is General Ability Test(GAT) will commence from 2.30 pm. A total of 100 questions will be asked in GAT in various topics. According to the NIFT 2021 exam pattern, -0.25 will be deducted for each wrong response.

NIFT 2021 – Mistakes to avoid during the exam

A stream of anxiety and apprehension run into the vein of the candidates during the exam resulting which most the students fall into the test-taking trap. Candidates must avoid any sort of blunder on the day of the NIFT exam as it may ruin their hard work. Know the common mistakes to avoid during the exam

  • Do not rust to answer the problem without reading the question carefully. Read the given question patiently and understand what the examiner wants from the candidates. 

  • Do not spend too much time in one question. It is advisable to leave the question immediately if it is not answerable. Remember there is a set time limit to complete the paper.

  • Stay calm and confident during the exam. Getting nervous during the exam may hinder the performance of the candidates in the NIFT entrance exam.

  • Start with light sketching instead of wasting time in erasing and redrawing. Give the final touch after the satisfaction of the rough outline.

Most of the students prepared for the NIFT entrance exam very well, however, few of the candidates couldn’t prepare well due to other exams. Talking about her preparation, Radhika Banda, “I started preparing for the NIFT 2021 6 months ago. Radhika Banda devoted 3 hours every day to nourish her illustrative skill. I prepared for the Creative Ability Test(CAT) with the help of youtube, referring to last year’s question papers.”

While speaking to the correspondent of Careers360, Rishika Sharma said “I have been preparing for the exam for the last 4 months. I joined Pahal Design to prepare for the entrance exam. I got study materials and proper guidance from the coaching institute. I focused on composition, variety of colours and colours composition for CAT. I also referred to magazines, blogs, newspapers to improve her general awareness.

It is significant for the candidates to know the tactic of answering the question accurately. NIFT written test consists of two parts – Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT). The tricks to answer NIFT 2021 questions are mentioned below.

Candidates are not allowed to carry some of the items to the NIFT exam centres 2021. If students found indulging in unfair means  by using or possessing unauthorised materials inside the test centre, they are liable to be disqualified. NIFT 2021 – Total number of questions

The NIFT written exam comprises two parts – Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT). Students seeking admission in B.Des programmes need to appear in both CAT and GAT. However, candidates applying for B.FTech have to appear for the General Ability Test (GAT). In the NIFT exam pattern 2021, the admission cell does not mention a specific number of questions which will be asked in the Creative Ability Test (CAT). However, according to the sample paper and previous years’ question maximum of 3 to 4 questions may come in CAT. However,a maximum of 100 questions will be asked  in the General Ability Test (GAT).

NIFT admit card 2021

Candidates are advised to carry the NIFT 2021 admit card along with a valid identity card to the exam centres. None of the students will be allowed to enter the NIFT exam venue without the hall ticket. The steps to download the NIFT admit card 2021 is listed below.

  • Enter the login credentials – application number, date of birth, email address

NIFT 2021 – Exam Venue Changed from Rajagiri Center For Business Studies to Rajagiri College of Social Sciences

National Institute of Fashion Technology issued a notification for the candidates appearing NIFT 2021 Rajagiri Center For Business Studies. The examination cell changed the exam venue from Rajagiri Center For Business Studies to Rajagiri Center For Business Studies due to  unavoidable administrative reasons. The details of the new exam venue is as follows.

Candidates need to download the revised NIFT 2021 admit card with the new test centre venue address. NIFT 2021 will be conducted according to the specified schedule.
